Description

In the southwest corner of one of the least accessible states in the country (bad airports, one Amtrak train at 3AM, and as many dirt roads as paved), sits the remains of Griffin, population zero.

Not too far away, down a long dirt road, one can also find the remains of the Occidental Grain Elevator, disused for nearly fifty years.

Desolate places like this make for great creative experimentation. There’s calming silence and no distractions.

For this set, I utilized my vintage Canon AE-1, and loaded it with expired Ukrainian Svema film. Expired film is always a gamble, but the results often contain shocking colors, and fine grains that border on painterly.

As with all of my 35mm film sets, minimal digital corrections have been used (nearly all dust removal).

This is a set of four prints, sized 8″x10″—either framed or unframed. Complete with Mini-Zine and Certificate of Authenticity.
