These are genuine visitor passes from the Brooklyn Correctional Facility (AKA “BCF”, AKA the Navy Yard Brig). BCF was used by the city as an overflow jail from 1984 to 1994, during them Crack war years when the murder rate soared over 2000 and Rikers was too full to handle the endless perp parade.
Let’s just call it: You’re not a real Brooklynite if you’re not carrying one of these in your wallet. Having this card literally says YOU WAS THERE. It makes you way more Brooklyn than nearly every other person in Brooklyn today. Great to have in your wallet at the club, right along side a few fake ID’s and a packet of Z-bars.
